About Us
Len Hundshamer is an accomplished law enforcement professional with over 40 years experience in the field. During his 35 year tenure with the Los Angeles Police Department, he worked a variety of assignments, attaining the rank of captain. Noteworthy among his achievements was the implementation of reforms mandated by the 2001 Federal Consent Decree. That experience provided him with insights into organizational structure, supervision accountability, auditing, training and creation of policy. In this assignment he developed protocols for the investigation and review of Officer Involved Shootings and Personnel Complaint Investigations.
Len was also the officer in charge of the Internal Affairs Division Section that prepared and presented disciplinary cases at administrative hearings (Board of Rights). In this capacity he responded to court writs, complied with discovery requests, reinvestigated cases as needed and advised board members on matters of administrative law.
After leaving the Los Angeles Police Department, Len took a position with the Sierra Madre Police Department where he was responsible for developing training, mentoring supervisory personnel and developing reporting systems. This assignment provided him with great insight into the myriad of logistical and budgetary challenges that face small police departments.
He created LJH Consulting Services in 2015 to assist government agencies with organization reform, the implementation of change and the development of training and auditing components to gauge the effectiveness of reforms. Since its inception, LJH Consulting Services has been retained to conduct countless complex workplace investigations in both the public and private sector. The types of investigations performed to date include:
Hostile Work Environment Claims
Harassment Complaints
Retaliation
Abrasive Employees/Managers
Violations of Policy/Procedure
Dishonest Employees
Racial Profiling Complaints
